Civil Aviation Department of Barbados

Air traffic control service is provided to aircraft in the air and on the maneuvering area of the airport to prevent collisions,
	   while at the same time ensuring that delays are kept to a minimum. In addition, information and advice on weather conditions, status of navigational and landing aids, airport surface conditions and the traffic situation is also provided. Alerting service and assistance in Search and Rescue are provided when required. In addition to the above flight planning and pre-flight briefings are provided.

The Air Traffic Services are sub-divided to perform the specialized functions as determined by aircraft operations. The sections are as follows:

- Aeronautical Information Service
